A song is an unusual resource in institutional communication. Entitled «PROCESA, Growing with You«, this piece of music was created with a clear purpose: to disseminate, in a friendly and innovative way, the work of the European Funds in the city of Ceuta during the period 2021–2027.

Why a song? Because explaining public policies should not be synonymous with technicalities and distance. We wanted every citizen of Ceuta, regardless of their age, to recognise the significance of these investments in their daily lives, and to be able to talk about them, hum them and share them. Music allows us to transform figures and programmes into emotion and memory; it turns an institutional message into a common heartbeat.

This initiative is not only a good communication practice, but also an innovative resource that seeks to reach all audiences: young people who will hear it on social media, people who will hear it at events organised by PROCESA, as the Intermediate Body of the Autonomous City of Ceuta for the implementation of European Funds in Ceuta in the period 2021-2027, throughout the development of the Programmes, as well as in educational centres, associations, shops and families. It is a song for all audiences. That is why the lyrics are clear, with short phrases and a catchy chorus. The music video, produced for dissemination on social media, YouTube and our own website, includes subtitles and real images of performances in the city to reinforce accessibility, transparency and accountability to citizens.

The song is much more than just a piece of music: it is a soundtrack to the transformation that Ceuta is undergoing thanks to European funds, both in terms of people (through the European Social Fund), in infrastructure, investment and the environment (ERDF), as well as in instruments that improve and boost the blue economy (EMFAF), and which increase the well-being of its citizens, cohesion and modernisation in Ceuta. The lyrics speak of effort, talent and a shared future. They celebrate entrepreneurs, as well as those who are training to take the next step or escape exclusion, projects that improve our neighbourhoods, and initiatives that care for the sea that defines and surrounds us throughout the city.

We wanted this ‘musical hit’ to also be a commitment to clarity: the three European Funds have the same goal, to improve and bring cohesion to the lives of people in each region where they operate, including the message of co-financing by the European Union, as required by visibility rules. Because accountability also means explaining well, and explaining well can also be exciting.

Therefore, this song will accompany us at PROCESA events, campaigns and activities. It was created to be useful, to stay in our minds with its catchy chorus and to give voice and rhythm to a simple and powerful idea: «that Ceuta grows with Europe, and that progress is built by adding together».

By spreading the word, we invite all citizens to listen to it, share it and make it their own. May its chorus be a daily reminder that every training course taken, every project undertaken, every new opportunity counts. May it be an open door to learn more, to participate, to propose and to continue moving forward step by step, with ambition and pride in our city, thanks to European Funds.
